Would buy again(31.12.2011)
Installed this in a Ruger Single Six, along with a 19# Hammer spring, What a difference it made. Trigger Pull was 4.5# and now is a clean 2# pull. No Stone work done on Hammer or sear.
Light and mushy...(13.11.2014)
Tried this spring on both a Blackhawk and a Single Six. It definitely lightened up the trigger pull, but at the expense of making it extremely mushy and vague feeling. On the Single Six it did not have enough weight to reset the trigger when you took your finger off. Guess I'll try the 40oz spring...
Excellent Springs(21.11.2009)
These springs were a cinch to install. They did the advertised job of helping reduce trigger pull (it was 5 1/2 lbs, orig equip, to between 2 1/2 to 3 lbs) and in conjunction with other action work, helped with the overall action smoothness. Used on New Model (Early, Pre-Warning) Blackhawk 45LC.
Excellent springs(03.10.2013)
Trigger jobs on 3 Rugers. I blackhawk in 44 spl, 1 single six in 32 mag and 1 single six in 22...all had weight of pull from 4 to 5 lbs. All came out within a half ounce of 2 lbs...very consistant. Installs great! Did a 41 mag a year ago that also came out this close but I cant remember if it was one of these springs...I believe it was. Ordering more for upcoming jobs.
Rugers rule!(08.08.2016)
I have installed many of these 30 oz. springs for several of my best customers. They have all been very satisfied as am I. Thanks Wolff for all your great springs.
Excellent mod for your Vaquero(14.01.2011)
This kit did wonders for my NM Vaquero which is a year old now. Been fighting a really heavy (6lb) creepy trigger all year. Bought this kit because I figured [$] was worth the gamble -- GOOD gamble. You need to know how to disassemble the Vaquero but using the middle of the road hammer spring (18lb) and the reduced power trigger spring has made me love this gun now. Trigger pull is a manageable 3lbs and consistent on every squeeze. Trigger still has creep but for[$] as opposed to almost $300 for the complete Power Custom trigger and hammer set, I am extremely happy.
Nice Improvement(28.01.2011)
Just installed this kit myself on a Ruger Single Six and am very pleased with the result. I am not a gun smith and this was the first time I have done something like this.
I read the manual on disassemblying and assemblying the revolver but also found a video tutorial on www.wonderhowto.com where a Ruger Tech actually shows you how by taking the revolver apart and putting it back together.
The only difficult part for me was compressing the new hammer or main spring back onto hammer strut. There may be a trick but here's how I did it. It took me and my son (needed extra pair of hands). I ended up placing the strut in the vise and carefully pushing the spring down with main spring seat. Once it was compressed on the strut my son put a pin/nail in the hole on the bottom of the strut to keep the spring compressed until I could reinstall it in the revolver.
Overall it took about 30 minutes. About half the time was trying to get the new main spring compressed.
Just got back from the range and the gun works great.
Superb Spring Kit(31.08.2013)
My NM Blackhawk had a so-so factory trigger pull, so I ordered this spring kit. After opening the box from Brownells, I had the hammer and trigger springs installed within 20 minutes. (Hint: put the strut in a vice, place the hammer spring over it, then use the safety lock block to compress the spring)
The trigger pull is now unbelievably crisp and light!
great product(05.04.2015)
This is a great spring kit. I used the 18lb. hammer spring, it is so much better than the stock spring. Faster for cowboy action.
